Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton exploded into fame in 1994, after she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an Number. It was Gold when she was 15 years old. It was made as an album that was heavily in the style of R. Kelly and it put the singer in the spotlight. She collaborated in 1996 with Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which contained the number-one hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. Following the success of this album, Aaliyah won international acclaim as an R&B performer. In 2000 she appeared in Romeo Must Die, a action/romance film starring Jet-Li. Joel Silver spotted her in the awards ceremony. In 2002, she appeared in the vampire movie Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels was her first appearance in The Matrix Sequels. She was also on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2007). She received four Grammy nominations from 1999 to 2003. She is an Indian-American of one generation who was born in Connecticut. Mann, her stage name is an acronym for Mankad which is her name as a married surname. Aarti Magnumdar is her official name. She also uses Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. Her acting career started in the early 2000 with small roles on TV and films. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. She's appeared in many commercials, including Volvo's global car producer. Her home is in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter and continues to pursue her acting career.
